Favourite Beauty Hacks From My Kitchen

Who doesn't love a bit of DIY  home made beauty masks, they are natural, affordable, effective and so easy to make!

I want to share with you my favourite  recipes that  work really well and are super simple to make from the ingredients in your kitchen cupboard. You can use as often as you like, I personally like to treat myself at least once  a week.

Morning Scrub  for Coffee lovers

Perfect for exfoliating your skin with a boost of caffeine

You will need:

  • One small mixing bowl & teaspoon
  • ½ teaspoon of finely ground coffee
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil (for dry skin) or grapeseed oil (for oily skin)

Mix all ingredients together and apply to a clean skin, massage gently for 1-2 minutes, you can leave the mixture on for additional 5 minutes for extra caffeine boost. Wash with lukewarm water and pat dry.

  Nourishing Face Mask

You will need:

  • One small mixing bowl & fork
  • 1/3 of ripen banana
  • 1 teaspoon of raw organic honey

Mash the banana and mix with the honey until combined, apply to your skin and leave on for 10 -15 minutes for your skin to fully absorb all the nutrients. Wash off with lukewarm water and pat dry. I absolutely love the smell of this mask you will want to eat it if you like bananas as much as I do :)!

Clarifying Mask for Oily or Combination Skin

You will need:

  • One small mixing bowl & teaspoon
  • ½ teaspoon of organic turmeric powder
  • ¾ teaspoon of soda bicarbonate powder
  • Few drops of lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of raw organic honey

Mix all the ingredients together (feel free to add more turmeric if you like a thicker mixture) and apply to your skin, leave on for 10 -15 minutes, then wash well with lukewarm water and pat dry. You might need to wash your face twice as turmeric can colour your skin, don’t worry you will not stay yellow forever  I promise.

 Treatment for Tired Eyes

You will need:

  • Green tea or Black tea teabags

Place 2 teabags in a warm water for few minutes, remove any excess liquid and place brewed teabags on each eye,  leave on for 5 -7 minutes. You can also place teabags in the fridge for 15  minutes, if your eyes are very tired cool teabags might be a better option for you. Tea contains tannins & caffeine  that reduce swelling and tighten the skin around your eyes, the caffeine reduces puffiness by shrinking the blood vessels and helps to reduce dark circles under your eyes.

Happy Sunday beauties!

X

Lucia
